Seminars, Webinars & Workshops
The objective of these training sessions is to provide you with the theory, knowledge and practical experience to understand, specify and use Helix. You will be provided with the software used to determine equivalence between Helix and conventional rebar.
These programs are directed towards structural engineers, ready mix suppliers and concrete contractors.
Webinars
These are approximately one hour long and cover different aspects of using Helix as a structural fiber. The upcoming schedule is shown in the table below. Note that if the link is not active, we have not yet received the information from the manufacturer, Helix Steel.
As an AIA- and RCEP-accredited course, every webinar attendee will also receive an official Certificate of Completion.
Seminar Workshop
These are approximately five hours long (plus a half hour for lunch) and consists of three one hour lectures followed by a two one hour workshops where rebar projects will be analyzed and converted to Helix.
- Helix introduction: science, basics of design and general use case review;
- Helix in walls and ICFs: seismic and shear wall design;
- Helix detailing: best practices;
- Helix: mixing, placing and finishing best practices;
- Workshops: conversion of projects using software and design tables;
The course provides 5.0 points of Continuing Professional Development for those registered with BC Housing. For lunch you will be indulged with the incredible Syrian cooking of our warehouse manager Chauki and his wife Zena.
